Stage One - Loose Sketch |
A few weeks ago, while I was working on the basic interface elements for PTD2, I came to Sam with interest in doing a fancy title graphic. I roughed it out pretty quickly, and thought it would be fun to show the stages of the process here once it was done. Unfortunately, I clearly wasn't thinking and rendered all of these with transparencies enabled, so they might be hard to see here. Sorry! I can't really go back now.

Stage Two - Refined Sketch |
I fleshed it further out pretty quickly after that. I chose the five that I did based on the first pokémon to be revealed per generation, though in some cases I picked those that were more iconic. For example, I think Machamp was one of the first ever to be revealed, but it seemed wrong to not include Pikachu.

Stage Three - Inked |
After that, I got caught up in the development of Project ANPO for a little while. It wasn't until I finally invested in a much overdue tablet upgrade this past week that I came back to it, aiming to finally finish it up. Below you'll see the final version of it as it appears in the upcoming update to the game!
Cool!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteCame out great!
ReplyDeleteOops. I didn't comment. Either way, I like it.
ReplyDeleteis that the name of PTD2? The logo/img looks really cool ;)
ReplyDeleteHows ANPO going?
Fabulous! I wish I could share more about it, but I think Sam wants to keep the majority of designs under wraps so that they're more exciting to discover in the game itself (a concept that I find myself agreeing with).
DeleteI think we have a very nice selection of designs in the works, though.
Great ;) need to check the SnD forum also lol (still usually has a lot more so its s pain when you are short on time =P) I'm really excited about the anpo proj cause you know how I love pets ^^, but yeah, I'm totally into looking for stuff ingame too.
DeleteCould you show us some other views or poses of like the starters for ANPO if you have them? Like the rear perspective or a mug shot.
DeleteI'm not handling the in-game assets of the creatures, so that's up to Sam to share. But I've been thinking about what I can do with this space and hope to put something together soonish. I don't want to make any promises in case something falls apart, though.
DeleteWhatever happened to updating HTD, it's been 0.015 forever, sorry for rushing you, just needed to get that out

HTD is on indefinite pause for the moment. My time at work is fully focused on Project ANPO/Creatures Universe at the moment.
DeleteI would be posting more, but since my part is the design of the creatures themselves and we're looking to keep those mostly under wraps (so that discovering them in-game can be more exciting) for now, there isn't a whole lot I can show, unfortunately.
Hey Kevin, been a while since I've posted. How have you been? Perhaps in the mean time while we wait you can post some of your artwork and perhaps originals. I know you have the deviant art, but we should have some stuff archived under HTD blog so we can see what sort of level of artistic greatness to expect. Hope all is going well, I shall check back in shortly. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to, if that's what people are interested in! I don't really do that much outside of work lately (especially since getting sick has me behind where I want to be at the moment) but it would be certainly more than I've been able to post recently.
DeleteWe would most certainly love that. Something to satiate us as we wait seeing as how HTD is about a year and a half in the making. :P Anything is nice at this point. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear bout you being sick so much still. Hope all goes better.
I don't know if I'm sick a lot so much as I just never post that "I'm not sick!". This is actually the first time I've been sick this year, save for that weird dizzy thing back at the very beginning of the year.
